About VRC
Vauxhall Recreation club was established as a private members sports and social club for the employees of Vauxhall Motors in 1931.
Over the years the club has continually strived to move with the times with significant changes and improvements taking place along the way. Our crowning moment came in 1995 when we moved into our new ‘state of the art’ facility on Gipsy Lane. Since then the club has become a hub for leisure in the community and has built an enviable reputation for delivering a diverse range of activities which is supported by excellent service. (Winner of the ‘National Sports Club of the Year’ award)
The club’s facilities can be enjoyed by both members and non members and is no longer exclusively for the usage of Vauxhall employees which has often been the general misconception over the years.
As a non profit making organisation all of the revenue which is generated is re invested back into the club. This means that we are able continuously improve our facilities and update our equipment in order to keep ourselves at the forefront of leisure.
In 2008 the club purchased its own land from Vauxhall Motors and now operates totally independently. The club’s trustees and management committee oversee the General Manager who is responsible with his team for the day to day management of the business.
The club has always strived to consistently exceed the expectations of its customers through the provision of first class facilities, exceptional service and great value for money.
